Bettendorf launches mobile-friendly website

The City of Bettendorf has launched a new mobile-friendly interactive website to help residents access information about city services, submit applications, register for classes, and sign up for text alerts, among other features.

Launch of the new site at www.bettendorf.org followed a weeks-long social media campaign. In the campaign, Bettendorf businesses and city employees held signs teasing “It’s Kind of a Big Deal,” “Easier to Find Than Your Car Keys,” “Launch, Baby, Launch,” and “Almost as Cool as the New Bridge.”

The city contracted with Revize, a Michigan-based company that specializes in the construction of government-sector websites to build and maintain the site.

According to a city news release, one popular item carried over from the old website is the address information feature. That allows a resident to type in their address and look up their garbage and recycling days, who their alderman and state legislators are, where their voting precinct is, and other information. Residents also can sign up for AlertIowa to receive text messages in the event of an emergency or severe weather.

Permits and licenses also can be submitted directly through the webpage.
