Beau Dexter named Genesis Health Group executive director

Beau Dexter was recently named executive director of the Genesis Health Group. He has been interim executive director since September.

In this role, he serves as operational executive for the region’s largest network of multi-speciality physicians.

Mr. Dexter, who became interim executive director to fill the role held by David Weiser, previously had served as director of primary care-ambulatory operations since June 2020. Mr. Dexter provided leadership for Genesis Health Group’s Primary Care practices of more than 200 physicians, with oversight of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Convenient Care, Pediatrics and the Genesis Quad Cities Family Medicine Residency Program.

During the pandemic, he led the implemented pivotal COVID-19 response initiatives –  from mass vaccination clinics and testing sites to the Safe at Home monitoring program to decrease hospital admissions and ICU lengths of stay.

“Beau’s ability to swiftly launch multiple clinics and programs during the evolving COVID crisis earned him the highest employee honor at Genesis in 2021 – the Legend Award,” according to information from Genesis.

Mr. Dexter began his career with Genesis Health System in 2005 as a student employee with the Grounds Department. Beginning in 2010 and over the next decade, he held positions of increasing responsibility in Human Resources including HR assistant, coordinator, director of

operations and services, and director for Ambulatory Services. 

He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master’s in business administration from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, in 2011 and 2012, respectively. He recently graduated from American Hospital Administration’s Next Generation Leadership Fellowship.
