Ascentra Credit Union invites the community to celebrate the dedication of the Be The Light Park in memory of its former President and CEO Dale Owen.
The event will be from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, at the park located at 1032 State St., Bettendorf.
Mr. Owen — a driving force in creating a thriving downtown and in establishing the Downtown Bettendorf Organization (DBO) — died in November 2020. Be the Light Park, led by DBO, was built and named in Mr. Owen’s memory.
The ceremony will include speakers, tree dedications and a park sign unveiling. A reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres will follow at the nearby Adventurous Brewing until 6 p.m.
