Autism society trivia night

The Autism Society of the Quad Cities will host a Trivia Night on Saturday, March 9, at the Esperanza Center in Moline.

Teams may register to play at the event, which will be at 335 Fifth Ave. center. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and trivia will begin at 5 p.m. The cost is $10 per player, with eight players per team.

The evening also will include a raffle for prize baskets and a bake sale with proceeds going toward scholarships for families impacted by autism, according to a news release from the organization.

One in 36 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and more than seven million people in the United States are on the autism spectrum, according to the release, which cites the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Because of the increase in prevalence, the Autism Society continues to provide education, support and advocacy throughout the area for people with autism through events and more.

Founded in 2004, the ASQC is a nonprofit charitable corporation that is part of the Autism Society of America. For more information, email autismqc@gmail.com.
