Arsenal to host Army vs. Navy flag football game

It’s time for the big football game on Arsenal Island. The Rock Island Arsenal Army vs. Navy flag football game at Memorial Field will be Friday, Dec. 13. The game starts at 2 p.m.

Admission is free. Attendees at Army vs. Navy are advised to bring lawn chairs for seating and dress for the weather.

Activities for the Army vs. Navy event begin at 11:30 a.m. when the food trucks start serving food until they run out.

This is not scheduled as a special event. Spectators will be required to have or obtain a pass to access to the installation at the Visitor Welcome Center. The center is located at the Moline gate of the installation. You will need a Real ID (or two photo IDs) and knowledge of your social security number to obtain a pass good for a year.

Also, cannon fire will be heard from Rock Island Arsenal on Friday, Dec. 13. The firing will be during the opening ceremonies for the game at about 2 p.m. This game is being played in recognition of Saturday’s 125th game between the Army Golden Nights and the Navy Midshipmen.
