Area students get $51,000 in scholarships at QC Auto Show

Area students have been awarded scholarships through the 2022 Quad City Regional Auto Show.

A total of $51,000 in scholarships were awarded to 14 students at Premier Night at the auto show.

The 2022 Quad City Regional Auto Show, held March 4-6 at the Bend XPO in East Moline, attracted thousands of people. This was the first year the show was held at the East Moline site.

Students selected to receive college or university scholarships include:

  • Anne Turpin – Geneseo High School, recommended by Turpin Motors, Geneseo. Awarded $5,000.  Father works at Turpin Motors 
  • Raymond Wiese – Moline High School, recommended by Eriksen Chevrolet, Milan. Awarded $3,000. Stepfather works at Eriksen Chevrolet Milan.
  • Deven Stief  –  North Scott High School, recommended by Highland Toyota Moline. Awarded $4,000. Father works at Highland Toyota Moline.
  • Nicholas Koustas –  Geneseo High School, recommended by Crowe Ford/Crowe Auto Group. Awarded $3,000. Father works at Crowe Ford. 
  • Ella Zillmer –  Bettendorf High School, recommended by Kimberly Car City Davenport. Awarded $4,000.  Father works at Kimberly Car City. 
  • Abbey Smith –  Davenport West High School, recommended by Smart Automotive Davenport. Awarded $3,000. Father works at Smart Automotive.
  • Ashley Smith –   Davenport West High School, recommended by Smart Automotive Davenport. Awarded $3,000. Father works at Smart Automotive.
  • Megan Lindsly – Central DeWitt High School, recommended by Green Chevrolet. Awarded $4,000.  Father works for the Green Family Dealerships
  • Mercedes Hantz –   Rock Island High School, recommended by Green Family Hyundai, Moline. Awarded $3,000. She works at Kimberly Car City. 

Students selected to receive automotive/technical/trade school scholarships include:

  • Jason Blick: Geneseo High School; awarded $3,000
  • Carson Miller: Galena High School; awarded $4,000
  • Noah Van Damme: United Township High School; awarded $3,000
  • Jade Bovee: United Township High School; awarded $4,000
  • Dalton Koenig-Plath: Mercer County High School; awarded $5,000

The auto show has awarded more than $632,000 to date in scholarships to 192 area students. Proceeds from the show support the Scholarship Fund.
