
SILVIS – The Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour is following the footsteps of the PGA Tour and bringing its tournament, which opens today, Tuesday, July 15, to TPC Deere Run, home of the John Deere Classic.
The APGA, a nonprofit organization founded in 201, is dedicated to inspiring an inclusive future through the game of golf.
The APGA at TPC Deere Run event began Monday, July 14, with practice rounds. The first 54-hole competition on APGA Tour’s 2025 schedule runs from Tuesday to Thursday, July 17. This marks the APGA Tour’s eighth event of 2025.
The APGA at TPC Deere Run is the seventh event in this year’s Cisco Cup Series. The tournament showcases a field of 54 APGA Tour players vying for a $25,000 purse, with the winner receiving a $7,500 prize and 700 Cisco Cup Series points toward the APGA’s season-long Cisco Cup Series points standings.
APGA schedule of events
The schedule of events at TPC Deere Run includes:
- Tuesday – Tournament play begins with a field of 54. Tee times will be from 8-11 a.m.
- Wednesday – Second round begins at 8 a.m.
- Thursday – Final round tees off at 8 a.m.
The APGA Tour Board of Directors hosts and operates professional golf tournaments as well as development and mentoring programs to introduce the game to inner city youth. In 2024, the tour offered 18 tournaments awarding more than $1 million in prize and bonus money. Its Player Development Program aids young minority golfers as they pursue their goals in professional golf.
The three-day tournament includes a field of 54 players, including APGA Tour’s top players. Tee times will be available here and live scoring will be available here.
Cisco Cup Standings: This ranking system tracks player performance throughout the APGAseason with players earning points based on their finishes in the designated events. The player accumulating the most points by season’s end is awarded the Cisco Cup, which often includes additional benefits such as sponsor exemptions.
Jeff Dailey Points: Named in honor of former Farmers Insurance CEO Jeff Dailey, this system measures players’ consistency and overall performance across all APGA Tour competitions, including the Cisco Cup season, the APGA Farmers Insurance Fall Series, and two Cisco Invitational events. The player with the highest combined points receives the Jeff Dailey APGA Tour Player of the Year Award, which includes a $25,000 bonus.
