American Scandinavian Association marks 90 years at Augustana

American Scandinavian Association of Augustana

The American Scandinavian Association at Augustana will celebrate its 90th anniversary  Friday, April 5, with a dinner meeting, open to the public, at Augustana College in Rock Island. 

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Gävle Room in the college’s Gerber Center. Music will be provided by members of the Augustana Jazz Ensemble. A smörgåsbord buffet will be served at 6 p.m.

The meeting will celebrate and recognize selected businesses founded by people of Swedish descent in Moline. The featured speaker at the American Scandinavian Association event will be Graham Hinch, director, Forestry Sales & Marketing at John Deere Western Hemisphere. Mr. Hinch will be speaking on “Leveraging Technologies From Finland to Serve Global Forestry Customer Needs.”
