Dry Goods, a young women’s fashion retailer, is expanding its reach this year with four new stores set to open in New Jersey, Virginia and Pennsylvania, Von Maur announced Thursday, July 17.

Dry Goods, a subsidiary of Davenport-based Von Maur, Inc., said that the additional stores will bring its total locations to 88 stores across 24 states. The growth plan marks the company’s debut in New Jersey.
The brand will be available in 2025 to customers at these shopping destinations:
- Cherry Hill Mall – Cherry Hill, New Jersey (opened April 26).
- Lynnhaven Mall – Virginia Beach, Virginia.
- Lehigh Valley Mall – Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
- Freehold Raceway Mall – Freehold, New Jersey.
Founded in 2010 by Von Maur, Dry Goods is known for its trendy fashion mix and caters to young women with its curated selection of contemporary clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.
Dry Goods opened its first location in 2010 in the Aurora, Illinois, Fox Valley Mall. In addition to its boutique shops, the company also has an online shop at drygoodsusa.com.
The expansion was announced in a company news release. It is only the latest move to increase Dry Goods’ footprint. In May of 2024, it announced it would open five new locations that year including the now open one in Cherry Hill.
The growing chain has four locations across Iowa including Davenport’s NorthPark Mall, Cedar Rapids’ Lindale Mall, Coral Ridge in Coralville, and Jordan Creek in West Des Moines.
Of its 11 Illinois locations, the nearest to its Davenport headquarters is the Dry Good’s location in Peoria at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie.
The company said the expansion reflects Dry Goods’ continued growth and commitment to reaching shoppers nationwide.
What customers want
“With each new store opening, we are listening to our customers and delivering what they want: trendy, accessible fashion in an environment that allows them to express their individual style,” said Melody Wright, president of Dry Goods. “New markets present an exciting opportunity to expand the Dry Goods experience across the country.”
In addition to the expansion, Dry Goods also plans this fall to relocate its Woodfield Mall location in Schaumburg, Illinois, to a fresh new space within the center.
The latest expansion plan comes more than a year after parent company Von Maur announced it will be investing more than $100 million over the next five years to complete an extensive, multi-phased renovation of a majority of its Von Maur department stores.
In addition, Von Maur revealed plans in May 2024 to expand Dry Goods into five new markets, including the now opened Cherry Hill location.
Von Maur is a family-owned department store company. It traces its roots back more than 150 years ago. The Dry Goods name pays homage to the original Von Maur Dry Goods, which was founded in 1872 in downtown Davenport.
In addition to its headquarters, Von Maur also operates its e-commerce facility in north Davenport. Known for its customer service and broad merchandise offerings, visit vonmaur.com and follow @vonmaur on social platforms.
