Rejuvenate Housing is opening the doors to its fourth fully renovated home in Davenport’s central city neighborhood.

To mark the nonprofit’s latest milestone and investment, Rejuvenate will host a public open house from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, July 17. Community members, volunteers, donors, and local leaders are encouraged to visit 516 W. 15th St. There they can tour the home and learn more about Rejuvenate Housing’s work and mission.

“Our goal is to give neglected houses, and the neighborhoods they’re part of, a second chance,” said Ami Porter, executive director of Rejuvenate Housing. “We’re not just fixing homes; we’re investing in people and places, and generating community pride.”

Rejuvenate is focused on stabilizing neighborhoods in the Quad Cities by acquiring, rehabbing, and reactivating long-vacant properties. Each project is a collaboration between donors, volunteers, and community partners.

The fourth home is the latest example of Rejuvenate Housing’s hands-on approach to neighborhood revitalization. And it shows its commitment to creating opportunities for homeownership.

“This milestone reflects the heart of our mission, restoring homes and hope one project at a time,” said Gwen Tombergs, Rejuvenate’s board president. “We are incredibly grateful to the donors, volunteers and neighbors who believe in this vision and make it possible.”

She applauded Rejuvenate’s partners on the project. They include the City of Davenport’s Extreme Dream initiative, the Quad Cities Housing Council, Ascentra Credit Union, and Clark Development and Design.

“Our fourth house is beautiful and brings the opportunity for homeownership to a qualifying low to moderate-income family wishing to make this Davenport neighborhood their home,” Ms. Tombergs added.

Ms. Porter said “Every home we complete is a small victory for housing equity. And we hope neighbors will join us to see what’s possible when we work together.”
