Davenport-based Russell will be the general contractor on a new endoscopy center in Chesterfield, Missouri, that will break ground Wednesday, June 11.
Gateway Gastroenterology, in collaboration with United Surgical Partners International (USPI), will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new outpatient medical facility.
The two-story, 28,000-square-foot building is slated to open in spring 2026. The facility will feature a four-procedure room endoscopy center on the first floor and office and clinic space on the second floor.
The project is being led by Deann Manchester, USPI vice president of real estate development, with Matt Mattox and Peter Cacciapaglia as the day-to-day development managers, and Mike Perry as the owner’s representative on behalf of USPI. In addition to Russell’s role, the project includes: E4H Architecture, supported locally by TR,i Architects; and engineering services by Garver and Stock & Associates.
‘Transformative facility’
“We’re proud to support Gateway Gastroenterology and USPI in bringing this new transformative facility to life,” Matthew Stack, St. Louis president at Russell, said in a news release.
St. Louis is home to one Russell’s four national offices and one of three Missouri markets it now has a footprint in after acquiring Springfield-based O’Reilly Build in April.

The expansion comes on the heels of national recognition for Gateway Gastroenterology’s outstanding clinical performance. For the second year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Gateway Gastroenterology and Gateway Endoscopy Center as the No. 1 facility in Missouri for outpatient endoscopy and colonoscopy.
