Baseball fans, get ready for a free day at the ballpark.
In celebration of Modern Woodmen Park again being recognized as the nation’s “Best Minor League Ballpark” in USA Today 10 Best’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards, the River Bandits and GreenState Credit Union have announced that admission to the Tuesday, May 13, game will be free to everyone.
Fans can join in on the fun by picking up their free tickets for the 6:30 p.m. game against the Dayton Dragons at the Modern Woodmen Park box office during regular business hours – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The game also will offer a free pennant giveaway for the first 500 guests, courtesy of Pepsi of Davenport. The Bandits will be also sell $2 hot dogs and sodas all night long.
The May 13 event also will be “Opening May” – the first game of the team’s first homestand in May – which means all of the amusements rides will be open for the first time this year. Attractions include a Ferris wheel, double-decker carousel, Wind-Up, DoublePlay, gyroscope and Froghopper.
“All of us in the River Bandits family are so grateful to this great community for supporting our team and making Modern Woodmen Park — again — America’s Best Minor League Ballpark that we wanted to say thank you by letting everyone in for free,” River Bandits owner Dave Heller said in a news release. “To partner with Vic Israni and all of our good friends at GreenState Credit Union, who, like us, are all about giving back makes it even more special. Quad Cities has the best people anywhere and what better way to say thank you to this great community than to invite everyone to enjoy a River Bandits game for free.”
“We are excited to partner with the River Bandits for this event,” said Mr. Israni, GreenState CEO. “We love to support local community traditions and there is nothing more traditional than a night at the ballpark with friends and family. We hope to pack the park!”
This year marked Modern Woodmen Park’s third time being selected for the USA Today 10Best’s Readers’ Choice Award. The ballpark also earned the distinction in 2024 and in the publication’s inaugural ranking in 2014.
The accolade is just the latest for the historic venue which, since the Quad Cities franchise was purchased by Main Street Baseball in 2007, has been named one of the nation’s best by the likes of Bleacher Report, Ballpark Digest, and Parade Magazine.
