Iowa American Water is highlighting National Work Zone Awareness Week this week (April 21-25) and reminding motorists to exercise caution in work zones.
“At Iowa American Water, our teams and contractors work daily in and around roadways to help ensure reliable service for our customers,” Brad Nielsen, president of Iowa American Water, said in a news release. “While safety remains a priority, work zones can pose serious risks. National Work Zone Awareness Week emphasizes our shared responsibility to keep roads and workers safe.”
Iowa American Water invests about $40 million into its infrastructure annually and has several crews working around its service areas on any given day. The company asks motorists to stay alert, slow down, and leave plenty of braking room when driving through work zones.
