Scott Community hosting live healthcare simulation April 30

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) is inviting the public to a free, immersive, multidisciplinary healthcare simulation at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30. The event, which will be held at the Scott Community College Health Sciences Building, 500 Belmont Road, Bettendorf, is in celebration of Community College Month.

The simulation will offer a front-row seat to a realistic patient scenario, showcasing how professionals across multiple disciplines collaborate to deliver comprehensive care. It also will cover a patient’s journey through the healthcare system.

The audience will watch as a teamwork of professionals from various healthcare disciplines including criminal justice, EMT/paramedic, dental assisting, medical assisting, radiologic technology, sonography, nursing, surgical technology, and health information management work together in real time.

There also will be an up-close look at emergency services tools and equipment in a mobile training ambulance, conversations with faculty and students from each health program, and Q&A sessions about healthcare career paths, program offerings, and opportunities.

EICC’s health programs are known for producing career-ready graduates. According to the college, it offers one of the most affordable and effective pathways into the healthcare industry in the region.

The simulation event is open to the public, free and is perfect for high school students, individuals considering a career change, and anyone curious about healthcare career opportunities.
