Belgian folk group WÖR to perform at Butterworth Center

“If it sounded good back then, why not today?” That’s the mantra of WÖR, a band of five whose curiosity, passion and talent will breathe new life into 18th Century melodies from Flanders Belgium at the Butterworth Center.

With contemporary arrangements that celebrate historic musical lore, WÖR – pronounced ‘were’ – has attracted audiences across Europe, Australia, Canada, and the U.S., winning awards and fans for live performances and unique albums such as Back to the 1780s (2015), Sssht (2017), and About Towers (2021).

All the Music at Butterworth concerts are free and held in the grand Butterworth Center Library. The event will include complimentary refreshments in the historic dining room. Parking for WÖR,is located adjacent to the Butterworth Center at 1105 8th St., Moline.
