Constellation, which runs the Quad Cities Generating Station in Cordova, announced $1 million in grants from Constellation Foundation to support 35 conservation projects as part of its commitment to creating cleaner, healthier environments in communities it serves.

Locally, Hog Capitol Wildlife Rescue and Rehab in Kewanee, Illinois, received a $5,000 Constellation Foundation grant to refurbish and construct enclosures that house birds of prey. The organization is a federally and state-licensed wildlife rescue, rehab and release organization.

The annual Constellation Leading Environmental Accelerators Network (CLEAN) Awards directly fund efforts to take on conservation projects that combat the climate crisis, protect ecosystems and advance sustainability across the company’s clean energy center communities in Illinois, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

A total of 25 nonprofits received grants ranging from $5,000 to $125,000. The Foundation partners with Constellation’s environmental and sustainability teams to select projects. Among the conservation projects were installing living shorelines, restoring native habitats, advancing environmental education and supporting an aquatic recovery center for reptiles and amphibians.
