Bettendorf Police support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with pink patch

Bettendorf Police will sport pink patches on their uniforms in honor of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to help raise awareness and money for the nonprofits doing great work locally.

To help support the cause with the Bettendorf Police, purchase a pink patch for $5, along with other merchandise. All proceeds go to the UnityPoint Health Trinity Health Foundation to help provide free mammograms for those unable to pay for this potentially life-saving procedure.

To order a patch and to view other merchandise, visit the Bettendorf Police Department at 1609 State St. or the gift shop at UnityPoint Health Trinity – Bettendorf,  4500 Utica Ridge Road, or visit www.bettendorf.org/PinkPatchStore. The online store, created by LogoPro in Bettendorf, is open until 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14.

For every item purchased in the online store, donors will receive the patch for free.

“We ask that you join the Bettendorf Police Department in helping us show support and bring awareness during the month of October for those in our community who have been personally affected by breast cancer,” Bettendorf Police Chief Keith Kimball said in a news release. “All of us know someone in our lives who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and had the courage to fight it with the support of others.”
