The Bi-State Regional Commission, the cities of Rock Island, Milan and Moline, and Rock Island County are seeking public input to help design upgrades to Andalusia Road/Indian Bluff Road from Turkey Hollow Road to U.S. Route 150.

The survey, which can be found here, was announced by Bi-State on Friday, Sept. 13. It will be open until the end of September and is centered on an important Illinois Quad Cities commerce and regional corridor, Bi-State said in a news release.

Residents, travelers and business leaders are asked to take this survey, and share it widely among family, friends and colleagues. With this survey, Bi-State said, is hopes to identify needs and opportunities along the corridor. The time frame was selected to “give a good sample of data to help determine what improvements are desired for the corridor.”

That critical corridor is one of only a few continuous east-west corridors in the Illinois Quad Cities and, as a result, is a heavily used route for commerce, Bi-State said.

In addition to asking respondents for a wish list for the corridor, the survey seeks input to track the way respondents use the corridor and it is designed for both business and residential travelers. It also gauges respondents’ views of the availability and need for bike and nature trails, access to businesses and homes as well as lighting, signage and more.

The survey is anonymous, but respondents who want to share more about corridor traffic and access can do so by entering their name, email and telephone number.

How data will be used

Knowing how citizens and businesses use this corridor and their thoughts on improvements will guide the overall plan for this important road segment, the Bi-State release said.

The corridor study is supported by Illinois Statewide Planning and Research funds. The lead consultant on the project is Alfred Benesch & Company. The study is anticipated to be completed in June 2025.

Chicago-based Benesch was part of the bridge design team for the new award-winning Interstate 74 Bridge.

The Bi-State Regional Commission serves as a forum for intergovernmental cooperation. It delivers regional programs and assists member local governments in planning and project development. It serves 47 local governments and the Iowa counties of Muscatine and Scott Illinois and the counties of Henry, Mercer and Rock Island.
