YWCA’s Pumps, Purses, Pizzazz designed to help youth

The YWCA Quad Cities will host its annual stylish Pumps, Purses and PIZAAZZ event on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center to help the organization’s efforts to develop a new youth shelter in the Quad Cities area.

The chic affair at the Waterfront, 2021 State St., Bettendorf, promises an evening of fashion, fun, and philanthropy, with all proceeds going to creating the new first of its kind youth shelter in the Quad Cities area, according to a YWCA news release.

Event highlights include:

  • Steppin’ Out in Style Showdown “Best in Shoe” Contest.
  • Perfect Purse Contest.
  • Charming Champions Fundraising Challenge.
  • Silent and live auction.
  • Dancing with Double H Entertainment DJ’s.
  • A champagne wall and ice sculpture with signature drink.
  • Gourmet appetizers and dinner buffet.

Pumps, Purses, and PIZZAZZ is more than just a stylish evening out; it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our youth. The funds raised will go directly toward the development of the YWCA QC’s new Youth Shelter, a crucial initiative aimed at providing a supportive and safe environment for young people facing homelessness and other life challenges.

The new Youth Shelter is located at the YWCA QC’s former location in downtown Rock Island. It is licensed by the State of Illinois as a 24-hour shelter for homeless youth, which will be the ONLY shelter for homeless youth in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities.
