Sept. 7 will feature flood-delayed Red, White & Boom!

Red, White and Boom! Fourth of July fireworks

This year’s Red, White and Boom! fireworks show – which was postponed from its original date because of Mississippi River flooding – has been rescheduled to Saturday, Sept. 7.

The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce announced in a news release today, July 3, the new date for the event and fireworks display. The annual Fourth of July event, which would have been tonight, will be held in downtown Davenport and Rock Island. Fireworks will be launched at dusk.

That delayed fireworks display still will have family-friendly activities in LeClaire Park in Davenport and Rock Island’s Schwiebert Riverfront Park. A Quad Cities River Bandits game also will be played that night at Davenport’s Modern Woodmen Park, the chamber said.

Red, White and Boom! is presented by the City of Davenport and the City of Rock Island. It is supported by the Downtown Davenport Partnership and Rock Island Downtown Alliance – affiliates of the Quad Cities Chamber.

Additional supporters include: Rock Island Parks & Recreation, Davenport Riverfront  Improvement Commission, KWQC, 97X & Townsquare Media, Quad-City Times & Dispatch-Argus, St. Ambrose University, Lunardi’s, Upper Mississippi Fleeting, Bent River Brewing Company, Rock Island Happy Joe’s and The Outhouse.
