Bettendorf Rotary Club hosts Lobsterfest on June 21

The 18th annual Rotary Club of Bettendorf  Lobsterfest is set for 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the Waterfront Convention Center in downtown Bettendorf.

Individual tickets for the club’s fundraiser are $100 each. Last year, the event raised more than $94,000. This year, the Bettendorf Rotarians have the goal of raising more than $100,000. Go here for ticket information.

“We are so happy to be able to raise these dollars through the generosity of our sponsors and those who attend the event,” Ann Kappeler, a Bettendorf Rotary club member and Lobsterfest organizer, said in a news release. “These dollars are used all year to help nonprofits, support struggling families and to fund youth projects as well as award scholarships to deserving students.”

Festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with “happy hour” drinks and appetizers. Guests are invited to play a game of “bags” and get your photo taken. Browse the mobile (silent) auction filled with unique baskets, local entertainment packages, dining and beverage gift cards, hand-crafted items and services, and many other items and fun things to do. There will be a raffle for Blanton’s Gold Edition bourbon and a handcrafted “tasting board.”

Also, there will be a “wine pull” where participants can win a bottle of red or white wine.

Dinner will begin at 6:45 p.m. and features a 5-ounce lobster tail along with a 5-ounce beef tenderloin, side dishes and a dessert. Wine and can beer will be served. Other beverages can be purchased (cash or credit card).

After dinner, the live auction begins. Some of this year’s list of auction items include:
