Igor’s Bistro  – the Rock Island restaurant with the year-round spooky vibe – is permanently closing its doors.

The Halloween-themed restaurant at 3055 38th St. is scheduled to close its doors on March 14, according to a video posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page by Kathy Lopez, one of Igor’s owners.

“It is time for us to do some downsizing and take a different route with our product,” said Ms. Lopez in the video message posted Sunday, Feb. 25.

She adds that this is not the end for the business as it “has some exciting plans in the works” for the future. Those plans will be announced on its Facebook page at a future date.

Also, Ms. Lopez said gift cards to the restaurant will be honored as long as Igor’s is open for business. In the coming days, the restaurant may be running out of some supplies as it prepares to close its doors. If supplies run out faster than expected, Igor’s may close before March 14, she added.

Ms. Lopez also thanked the customers for their support over the years, especially during the pandemic. “We love you all,” she added.

Igor’s Bistro was opened by husband and wife, Rick and Kathy Lopez, in 2017.

“Rick spent decades building kitchens, casinos and dozens of other projects. But once founded in 2017, Igor’s became his new labor of love,” according to the restaurant’s website.

Some of the items on the menu include:

  • Vampire bites – mini salted pretzels.
  • The Goblin – six-ounce grilled brat burger.
  • The Ghost and Mr. Chicken – ghost pepper sauce on a grilled chicken.
  • Reubenstein – thinly sliced, slow cooked corn beef sandwich.

Igor’s is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
