The City of Moline and Renew Moline will host a Moline riverfront ‘Love the River’ Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 10, to update the community on how its feedback was applied to riverfront design drafts.
The event — which runs 3-5 p.m. at Mercado on Fifth, 423 12th St. — will include more information on riverfront ideas shared in October; three design concepts for the riverfront; a presentation at 3:10 p.m. covering the project background, community vision and design concepts; and family-friendly activities, according to a news release.
There also will be free professional Valentine’s-themed photos, a Valentine’s-inspired decorating station, and local sweet treats and refreshments. Free parking is available north of the building.
The initiative — led by the City of Moline, Renew Moline and a multidisciplinary planning team, MKSK Studios — aims to create a compelling vision and implementation plan for a re-imagined Moline riverfront, according to the release.
