Are you interested in volunteering, becoming a docent or interning at the Putnam Museum? The museum will host an informational open house for people of all ages and abilities from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the lobby of the museum, located at 1717 W. 12th St., Davenport.
Attendees will learn more about available opportunities and the responsibilities they entail, including a variety of tasks and areas such as collections, event support, gallery attendants and more. Those who are interested in volunteering as a docent also can learn about the training course, schedule and program benefits.
“We hope that this event will allow people who are looking to make a difference in their community to easily find the right volunteer opportunity for them,” organizers said in a news release.
Students completing community service hours for school or extracurricular programs also may sign up to volunteer at events.
