The Rock Island Arsenal’s Child and Youth Services Youth Sports and Fitness program will host the Positive Coaching Alliance’s Double-Goal Coach: Coaching For Winning and Life Lessons, a two-hour workshop outdoors on Saturday, Sept. 9.
The free event — running 8:30-10:30 a.m. — is open to the public with a visitor’s pass, and will be held at the Rock Island Arsenal Sports Complex at the northeast side of the island.
The interactive workshop begins by defining the Double-Goal Coach as someone who strives to win and works to prepare teams to play at the highest level while also teaching life lessons on teamwork, dedication and more, according to a news release from the Rock Island Arsenal, which cites the Positive Coaching Alliance.
The workshop also will include video-based advice from professional athletes and coaches on PCA’s national advisory board.
