Channel Cat Water Taxi to end weekday service soon

The Channel Cat Water Taxi will wrap up its weekday schedule on Labor Day when it switches to its fall season.

That makes Monday, Sept. 4, your last chance to catch the Mississippi River taxi on a weekday until 2024.

“Thanks to our community, the Channel Cat is one of the most loved attractions in the QC,” Jennifer Hirsch, MetroLINK’s manager of administration, told the QCBJ. “Our 2023 Channel Cat season has been phenomenal. We’ve experienced great weather and a 10% increase in ridership over last year.”

“For those who haven’t caught a ride yet this season, there’s still time to get out and enjoy our beautiful Mississippi River on the Channel Cat after Labor Day, weekends only through mid-October,” she added.

Here’s the Labor Day weekend schedule:

  • Friday, Sept. 1 – 9 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. (There is no Isle of Casino stop due to the American Countess docking.)
  • Saturday, Sept. 2 – 9 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 3 – 9 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
  • Monday, Sept. 4 – 9 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children, ages 2-10, for all-day, unlimited use on the day of

purchase. Check out the “Channel Cat” ticketing mobile app for credit purchases.

After Labor Day there is still time to catch a ride but on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. For the fall season, the Channel Cat will operate from 9 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on these days, weather permitting. The season ends Oct. 22nd.
