Meadowview offers a range of living options — independent and assisted living, as well as memory care — in one setting, with no initial buy-in required, according to information from Meadowview. The community had a soft opening in March, and there will be a public grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 25. The event will include food, live music and tours, according to the Meadowview Facebook page. Some of the welcoming events for the facility started this week. A Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday afternoon, June 15, to welcome Meadowview to the community. Around 25 members of the business community gathered at the facility for the ceremony.“We’re finally here. We’re finally open,” said Becky Geiger, executive director of Meadowview. After the ceremony, Ms. Geiger and other staff members gave tours of the facility to chamber members. They showed a one-bedroom, 615-square-foot assisted living apartment; a one-bedroom, 660-square-foot apartment; and a two-bedroom, 965-square-foot apartment.“The unique thing about our building is that you can age in place,” Ms. Geiger told one of the tour groups, referring to the different levels of care offered at Meadowview, and the fact clients can transition from one level to another. Those care options include:
Independent living: This option will offer older adults the convenience and enjoyment of community living. Residents can take advantage of amenities like dining options and housekeeping services while still enjoying full independence. Social events will provide the opportunity to pursue interests and connect with friends and neighbors.
Assisted living: This option will offer older adults the extra care they need to help them remain independent. Residents will have an abundance of health services and amenities included in their monthly rent that make living comfortable, safe and convenient.
Memory care: Specially designed for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss, the environment will be simple and well-organized with home-like furnishings to create a calming, reassuring atmosphere. Memory care community members will have private apartments, spacious community areas and an open dining environment. A range of amenities will be available to serve a varying range of abilities.
Some of the other features offered at Meadowview include 17 floor plans for apartments, a courtyard patio with a fire pit, fireside lounge, movie theater, salon-barbershop, fitness center, library, arts and crafts rooms and restaurant-style dining.Meadowview has about 12 full-time employees, and has about 10% capacity for residents, said Ms. Geiger.“Davenport was selected for this new community because there was a demonstrated need for more senior living in our area,” said Cyndi Koenes, Meadowview of Davenport director of sales, in a news release this spring. “This particular location was selected because it is on seven acres and provides easy access to physicians, dining, shopping, banking and churches for our residents.”
