Explore 20 parks and nature preserves throughout the Quad Cities this summer as River Action hosts an all-ages Explore and Seek environmental scavenger hunt.
Beginning Thursday, June 1, through Friday, June 30, gather your family and friends and visit wild places throughout the area for the hunt. The cost — $30 per package if you pick it up in person, $37 if you need it to be mailed — includes coupons for local businesses, two fanny packs, two field notebooks, two maps, questions and clues for the conservation areas, according to a River Action news release.
A sample clue for Davenport’s Sunderbruch Park, for example, is: “What insect is named after a punctuation mark and is found in a deciduous wooded landscape? Hint: The answer is found on the Upland Forest Signage in Sunderbruch Park.”
Participants who answer all the questions by the end of the month will be entered into a drawing to win fun prizes. To register, visit here.
