FOL-DA-TANK acquires EVAC Systems

FOL-DA-TANK – a Milan, Illinois, company that makes portable water tanks – recently acquired EVAC Systems Fire and Rescue, a company that makes bags and other products for fire and rescue crews.

The acquisition became official on Oct. 14.

“We’re always looking for ways to innovate in the fire and rescue industry, and EVAC Systems’ range of solutions perfectly complements our line of products,” said Joel Wright, president of FOL-DA-TANK. “With this acquisition, our combined teams will be in a position to better serve our customers and offer an even wider array of smart, reliable products.”

The acquisition is the first for the Milan company. The company got its start in 1954 when its founder used his young daughter’s playpen as inspiration for the first folding frame drop tank. The drop tank invention revolutionized rural water supply, according to information from the company.

“Customers of our family-owned business are on the front lines of dangerous natural and man-made disasters and emergency situations to protect people, property and the environment from harm. We honor their resolve with an absolute commitment to building the best water storage tanks and accessories available — always meeting or exceeding industry and regulatory standards,” according to the company’s website.

“We’re looking forward to the way FOL-DA-TANK will help us grow,” said Laurie McCune, retiring president of EVAC Systems. “We make products we stand behind, and it’s great to work with people who have a similar mindset and commitment to products and integrity.”

The EVAC manufacturing facilities, showroom and team have been relocated to FOL-DA-TANK’s Milan factory.
