A new Aldi discount grocery store is set to open Thursday, Sept. 1, at 3221 Devils Glen Road, Bettendorf, company officials announced Monday, Aug. 22.

The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This will be the sixth Aldi store in the Quad Cities and the first in Bettendorf.

Work crews were busy at the store’s building site on Monday afternoon, Aug. 22. Crews appeared to be busy landscaping and working on numerous jobs inside the building and in the parking lot.

Once open, the first 100 customers will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of Aldi fan favorites products and a gift card as part of the Aldi Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program, according to a news release. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card.

On Monday, the Aldi company website had this statement: “Our grand opening is right around the corner and we’re stocking our shelves with aisle after aisle of products you love. We’ve got everything from fresh produce delivered daily to everyday essentials you can never have enough of.”

Aldi currently has stores at these QC locations: two Davenport sites, 5262 Elmore Ave. and 1702 Brady St.; one in Moline at 4211 Avenue of the Cities; a Rock Island store at 1880 38th St.; and a store at 1210 18th St., Silvis.

ALDI is one of America’s fastest-growing retailers, serving millions of customers across the country each month. With 2,200 stores across 38 states, the Batavia, Illinois-based ALDI is on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022, according to its website.
