UnityPoint Health – Trinity Bettendorf and Rock Island have received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain ̶MI Registry Performance Achievement Award for 2026.
UnityPoint Health – Trinity is the only hospital in the Quad Cities to be recognized with this national achievement award.
Those honors include:
- UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island: Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
- UnityPoint Health – Trinity Bettendorf: Gold Performance Achievement Award.
These awards reflect UnityPoint Health’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care close to home for people experiencing a heart attack, the health system said in a news release. Hospitals recognized have consistently met rigorous national standards based on American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association clinical guidelines.
“This recognition is about much more than an award. When someone is experiencing a heart attack, every second matters and patients deserve to know they’re receiving care that meets the highest national standards,” said Dr. Toyosi Olutade, chief medical officer at UnityPoint Health – Trinity.
Heart disease remains the leading health concern in the Quad Cities, claiming the lives of nearly 25% of adults, the release said.
“We believe that’s too many,” said Kathy Pulley, director of cardiology services at UnityPoint Health – Trinity. “When someone experiences a heart attack, families place their trust in us during one of the most frightening moments of their lives. Receiving this award for the sixth year in a row reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional heart care close to home for every patient.”
UnityPoint Health – Trinity Bettendorf and Rock Island are two of 10 UnityPoint Health hospitals that received performance achievement awards from the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry for 2026. The two Quad Cities hospitals also were honored in 2025.

From a system standpoint, these awards highlight our commitment to improving outcomes and increasing access to quality care across the communities we serve in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.”
More than 800,000 Americans experience a heart attack each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A heart attack occurs when blood flow to the heart muscle is blocked, requiring rapid diagnosis and treatment. Evidence-based care includes timely restoration of blood flow, appropriate medications, smoking cessation, counseling and participation in cardiac rehabilitation.
The Chest Pain – MI Registry supports care teams in consistently applying the latest science — based treatment guidelines and helps establish a national benchmark for improving quality, safety and outcomes for patients with coronary artery disease.
