Moline residents will soon get a chance to see the city’s plans to improve the community.

A Comprehensive Plan Open House will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Moline Public Library, 3210 41st St.

The plan will establish priorities to guide housing, transportation, parks, economic development, infrastructure investment, and zoning decisions for years to come.

A comprehensive plan is also a long-range, policy-driven blueprint that guides growth and development over the next 10 to 20 years, shaping decisions around land use, transportation, housing, and infrastructure to ensure a vibrant, sustainable future for the community, according to information from the city.

A Comprehensive Plan Community Open House was held March 4 at Mercado on Fifth, 423 12th St., Moline.

This week’s open house is an opportunity to review Moline’s draft Comprehensive Plan, see how community feedback has shaped the plan and share additional input before it is finalized.

Representatives from the City of Moline and consultant LJC Design & Engineering will be available to answer questions and discuss the draft vision, goals and neighborhood concepts.

Community members who were unable to attend the kickoff event at Mercado on Fifth are encouraged to participate, and those who did attend are invited to see how their feedback has influenced the draft plan.

More information on the plan is available here.
