The McCarthy-Bush Corporation has acquired Roemer Machine, a Davenport-based manufacturing company widely recognized for its centrifuge repair technical expertise, as well as its machining capabilities, according to a news release made available today, Thursday, May 14.

The acquisition represents a strategic investment in McCarthy-Bush’s growing manufacturing portfolio, expanding its ability to serve customers with broader in-house capabilities while preserving a strong legacy of family ownership and craftsmanship, according to information from McCarthy-Bush.

No details regarding the financial transaction were disclosed.

Founded in 1940, Roemer Machine is a third-generation family-owned business, most recently led by brothers Scott and AJ Tarchinski. The connection between the two organizations was strengthened by their shared values as multi-generational family-owned businesses with a long-term view, deep commitment to people, and a reputation built on doing quality work the right way.

Roemer Machine also serves industrial customers across sectors including ethanol, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and wastewater processing.

It will continue operating under the Roemer Machine name, and its existing team will remain in place. Scott Tarchinski will continue with the business as general manager, providing continuity for employees and customers, McCarthy Bush said. His ongoing leadership and technical expertise will help ensure the same trusted service and relationships customers have come to rely on.

“This is a meaningful addition to the McCarthy-Bush family of companies,” McCarthy-Bush CEO Mike Bush said. “Roemer has built an outstanding business with a strong reputation, talented people, and expertise in a highly specialized space. Just as importantly, this is a company that shares our values as a family-owned business. There was a natural alignment in how both organizations think about people, customers, and long-term stewardship.”

The acquisition strengthens McCarthy-Bush’s manufacturing platform by adding specialized centrifuge repair technical capabilities while expanding machining capacity that complements the Davenport-based company’s existing manufacturing operations, including Oertel Metal Works, McCarthy-Bush’s full-service fabrication company based in Davenport.

“Roemer brings an exceptional team and highly specialized capabilities that are a strong strategic fit for our manufacturing businesses,” said Brian Krzyaniak, president of the Manufacturing Division. “This acquisition allows us to better serve our customers with expanded capabilities while creating new opportunities for collaboration and growth across our manufacturing operations.”

“This partnership creates an exciting next chapter for Roemer Machine,” said Mr. Tarchinski, general manager of Roemer Machine. “As a third-generation family business, finding the right long-term home for our company, employees, and customers mattered deeply to us. McCarthy-Bush shares that same long-term mindset and commitment to people, which made this the right fit.”

For Roemer Machine customers, day-to-day operations will remain consistent.

McCarthy-Bush Corporation is a fifth-generation family-owned company based in Davenport with a history spanning more than 125 years. The company operates a diverse group of businesses across construction, manufacturing, and mining, serving customers throughout the Midwest and beyond.
