Every day, someone in the Quad Cities hears the life-changing words: “You have cancer.”

For many, Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s Club is the place they turn for hope, guidance, and community. Now the Cancer Support Community needs the greater community’s help in continuing its mission.

The annual Live from QC… It’s Saturday Nite gala will hit the stage Saturday, March 28, at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf. The event, presented by MercyOne Genesis, is the cornerstone of the organization’s fundraising efforts. (Doors open at 6 p.m.)

“Every ticket purchased, every table filled, directly sustains programs that provide hope, connection, and care for those impacted by cancer,” said Joy Bush, the organization’s executive director. “Support is more vital than ever, and this gala ensures our life-changing programs continue at no cost to participants.”

In 2025, CSC saw 1,436 people seek its support – a 24% increase over the previous year. Thanks to generous donors, the organization was able to provide nearly 5,000 visits, 945+ free programs, 249 support groups, 2,400 meals, and 313 wigs – all at no cost.

Gilda's Club Blessing Tree cancer rates growing Gilda's Club cancer support community Brain Fog WorkshopLeaders of the CSC, which serves those impacted by cancer in the Quad Cities region and across Iowa, said vital support is more crucial than ever. With ticket sales for the gala lower than they need them to be, CSC is asking for the community to rally and show its support.

Funds raised at the gala help sustain programs all year long, ensuring that free services remain available to individuals and families facing cancer.
