ALEDO, Illinois — MercyOne Genesis Aledo Medical Center, along with 11 other MercyOne and affiliate hospitals, has been honored with a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for Excellence in Quality, the health system announced on National Rural Health Day, Nov. 21.
Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the awards recognize rural hospitals that achieve top-quartile performance (75th percentile or above) in Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective.
“I am so proud of our team and their outstanding commitment to providing high-quality care to our Mercer County community,” Ted Rogalski, MercyOne Genesis Aledo Medical Center administrator, said in a news release Friday.
Mike Trachta, MercyOne vice president of Rural Hospitals and Regional Operations, praised the teams for the recognition. “It’s a great testament to the teams of these Medical Centers to be recognized by the Chartis Center,” Mr. Trachta said. “Health care is increasingly difficult for a multitude of reasons, so to see these hospitals receive accolades for performance and quality speaks volumes about the care they provide.”
The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, an objective assessment of rural hospital performance used by hospitals and health systems nationwide.
“Wherever we go in rural America, we witness first-hand the commitment, determination, and compassion with which rural hospitals serve their communities,” Michael Topchik, national leader for The Chartis Center for Rural Health, said in the release.
