More than 350 eighth graders from western Illinois will attend the “Welcome to the Real World and Career Exploration” event at Carl Sandburg College on Friday, Nov. 21.
The immersive experience – a partnership between Sandburg, the University of Illinois Extension, and the Regional Office of Education No. 33 – will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Its aim is to educate students on career choices and financial literacy.
The event includes a career panel and interactive demonstrations from various industry partners, including CBI Bank & Trust.
