Following the departure of its leader Mauricio Diaz, Dress for Success Quad Cities announced today it will be searching for a new executive director to lead the area nonprofit dedicated to helping women gain financial independence.
Dress for Success QC announced what it called Mr. Diaz’s immediate departure in a news release today, Sept. 18. When asked by the QCBJ about the reason for his exit, Board Chair Chris Papke declined to release any additional information on behalf of the board.
She did say in the news release “We wish Mauricio all the best in his future endeavors and are now focused on finding our next executive director.”
Mr. Diaz came aboard at Dress for Success in May of 2022. Two years later, he was selected for the QCBJ’s 40 Under 40 leaders by members of the class of 2023.
Before joining Dress for Success QC, Mr. Diaz worked as field organizer for the Iowa Democratic Party since 2018.
He replaced Tyla Sherwin-Cole. She left Dress for Success QC in March 2022 to become executive director of the Doris & Victor Day Foundation in Rock Island.
