New tractors, combines and other agricultural equipment are almost ready to take center stage. And thousands of people are ready to see them. It’s almost farm show time.

The 2023 Quad Cities Farm Show is set for Sunday through Tuesday, Jan. 15-17, at the QCCA Expo Center, 2621 4th Ave., Rock Island. Show times will be: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show has free admission.

“The show preparation is going great,” Robert Junker, the QCCA Expo Center’s show director, told the QCBJ this week. “We’re loading things up. We’re getting things ready to go right now.”

Mr. Junker added that he expects about 100 vendors at the annual equipment show. Those vendors are expected to feature many displays of agriculture products and equipment, planting machinery, tractors and more. Other vendors include companies displaying livestock equipment, outdoor power equipment, grain handling, and new technologies from computer software to GPS systems.

The 2022 event drew thousands of attendees who walked through row after row filled with  shiny, new tractors and just about every other piece of ag equipment under the sun. That equipment ranged from the giant Case IH Steiger 620 Quadtrac to lawnmowers, rental equipment as well as a table filled with hand tools that attracted big crowds.

Show organizers said they were pleased with the crowds for the 2022 event since it was the first-year return since being canceled by the pandemic in 2021. They are hoping the 2023 show will attract even bigger crowds.

For many years, the Farm Show was presented and managed by longtime businessman Richard Sherman. Mr. Sherman has retired from the business and has given “his blessings” to have the Expo Center present the show, Mr. Junker added.
