
Time to get your ticket to the Women Lead Change conference in Bettendorf on Thursday, Nov. 7, is running out. The deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, Oct 28.
A leadership expert, a recruiter, a Paralympian and an Academy Award screenwriter and actor will inspire and entertain the crowd expected at the 2024 Women Lead Change Conference: Quad Cities.
The conference will be held at the Waterfront Convention Center in downtown Bettendorf.

Here’s a closer look at the lineup:
- Candace Doby is founder of The Can-Do Company. She is a leadership development strategist, author of “A Cool Girl’s Guide To Courage,” and a professional speaker. She works with organizations to create a culture of courage where employees spend less time and energy censoring and hiding themselves and more time performing at their highest potential.
- Charlie Saffro is a recruiting expert with a passion for human leadership, talent acquisition, employee engagement, company culture and retention. She founded CS Recruiting to connect individuals to opportunities and as CEO, she manages a thriving organization and a team of talented team members. Ms. Saffro’s clientele includes businesses in need of talent in the transportation, logistics and supply chain industries.
- Mallory Weggemann is a four-time Paralympian for Team USA, who recently competed at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, where she won a gold and silver medal in swimming. A multi-time American and World record holder, ESPN ESPY Award recipient and a seven-time Paralympic medalist (4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), Ms. Weggemann has utilized the platform of her professional swimming career to be a fierce advocate for the disability community.
In addition to her athletic career, she has worked for NBC Sports at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Paralympic Games as a reporter and in-studio correspondent. This summer, she made her hosting debut for NBC for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on CNBC and E! before competing in the Paralympic Games.
She and her husband, Jay Snyder, co-directed and released “WATERSHED” on Peacock this summer. The deeply personal film shares their journey leading up to the postponed Tokyo Paralympics, while revealing their struggles with infertility and the importance of IVF in their quest to start a family.
In 2021, Ms. Weggemann released her memoir “LIMITLESS” in which she shared her journey of hope and resilience to overcome adversity, empowering readers to honor their journey and lean into their still unwritten futures. Following her paralysis at the age of 18, Mallory has found not only her passion, but purpose in the power that storytelling and sport hold to transcend and serve as a catalyst for change in our society.
- Nia Vardalos is an Academy Award, WGA, SAG, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe-nominated screenwriter and actor. Beyond her on-screen achievements, she has made her mark as a New York Times bestselling author of her memoir “Instant Mom,” and a playwright with her “Tiny Beautiful Things,” which earned distinction as a New York Times Critics Pick.
As a voice actor, she has voiced many roles plus created and starred in Audible’s original comedy series, “Motivated!.” She recently directed and acted in her screenplay, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” – adding another chapter to the beloved film franchise.
Ms. Vardalos rose to prominence with her work on the No. 1 romantic comedy of all time, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” where she received an Academy Award nomination for Original Screenplay and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
