WIU to host Accounting career open house

The Western Illinois University (WIU) School of Accounting, Finance, Economics and Decision Sciences (AFED) will host Accounting Career Explorations. 

The event, which is targeted at current and prospective students, is from 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 on the university’s Quad Cities campus, 3300 River Dr, Moline. It is open to any current WIU student, local community college student or high school student interested in a major or career in accounting, finance or business.

The accounting exploration schedule includes:

  • 8:30-9:15 a.m.: WIU table fair and continental breakfast available to all attendees.
  • 9:30-10:45 a.m.: Learning and language of business information session.
  • 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Careers in public accounting information session.
  • 12:30-1:45 p.m.: Free networking lunch for community college and high school students.
  • 2-3:15 p.m.: Corporate and managerial accounting information session.
  • 3:30-4:30 p.m.: Meet an accountant and WIU table fair.
