
Western Illinois University’s Bilingual Early Learning & Family Center, in partnership with the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC), will host an in-person workshop series titled “Starting a Business in Illinois” throughout April.
The workshops will be from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. on Mondays, April 7, 21 and 28, at the WIU-QC Campus in Room 120 of’ Riverfront Hall, 3300 River Drive, Moline.
The workshop series is designed to provide guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs on the essential steps of establishing a business. Topics covered will include: Choosing a business name; business property types; licenses and permits’ obtaining a tax identification number; business bank accounts; insurance considerations; tax payments (sales tax, payroll), and basic record-keeping.
