WIU Museum Studies spotlights careers in the field

The Western Illinois University Museum Studies program will sponsor the 2025 Career Conversations from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, via Zoom. The virtual event’s target audience is emerging professionals, those in career transitions, and individuals interested in connecting with these groups of professionals.

Career Conversations is free, but registration is required. Once registered, participants will receive a link to the online event. Register here.

Panelists will share their educational and career paths, discuss the road to their current positions, explore the highs and lows of working in cultural institutions, and answer any questions. The event aims to highlight the diversity of paths in the museum field and some of the choices professionals have made for their education and careers.

Students in the Quad Cities area can attend a livestream party on the WIU Moline campus from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The gathering will include food, drinks and networking opportunities for emerging museum professionals.
