West End Revitalization update to be shared April 29 at MLK Center

West End Revitalization Rock Island update

The Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Rock Island will host a community meeting from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, for West End Revitalization (WER) coordinators to share updates and discuss future plans for the West End.

The meeting is free and open to the public and will be at the MLK Center, 630 9th St., Rock Island.

The gathering is about involving everyone in the process, and making sure the effort reflects the needs and aspirations of the people who live in the West End, WER coordinators Thurgood Brooks, Avery Pearl, and Virginia Jarrett said in a news release.

Attendees will learn about current work of WER and can participate in a dialogue about the project. Information on how to become involved in the WER initiative also will be available.

WER is a long-term community-driven effort focused on improving the West End of Rock Island. For more information, call (309) 732-2999 or visit mlkcenter.org/westend.
