The Voy 61 Drive In Theatre near Maquoketa, Iowa, is getting ready to help usher in the upcoming school year with a Family Night and Back To School Bash.
The drive in, located five miles south of Maquoketa on Highway 61, Exit 153, will host the event Thursday, Aug. 10.
The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at approximately 8:30 p.m. or dusk. The movie will be “The Super Mario Brothers Movie.” There will be a $5 admission fee for every vehicle.
Some of the features of the night will include:
- A school supply give-away. More than 15 local agencies will be giving away supplies at the event.
- Patrons will receive a free souvenir Coca-Cola cup, while supplies last.
- Free activities will include a bounce house, face painting and more.
The Voy 61 Drive In Theatre is one of four drive-ins still operating across the State of Iowa.
Patrons may bring along a radio and lawn chair to watch the movie.
