Volunteers sought for Downtown Cleanup event

Volunteers now are being sought to take part in the Downtown Cleanup event in Bettendorf. The event will begin with a free lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, and cleanup activities will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Bettendorf City Hall Plaza, 1609 State St.

Volunteers are asked to register here.

The event is being presented by the City of Bettendorf and the Downtown Bettendorf Organization and organized by XStream Cleanup.

The city has worked hard on transforming itself into a destination.

Supplies, including safety vests, gloves, bags, and garbage pickers, will be provided. Free parking is available at Bettendorf City Hall, 15th Street Landing, and along any side street downtown. Volunteers are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing, such as long pants and durable shoes.
