Visit QC sports tourism meeting set for Feb. 11

    The community is invited to join Visit Quad Cities for a discussion about the impact of sports tourism.

    AccelerateVQC: The Power of Sports Tourism will be Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Vibrant Arena at The MARK in downtown Moline.

    This event is free to attend, and local stakeholders, partners, sports organizations, and community leaders are invited to attend. Go here to register to attend.

    This is an opportunity to gain national insight, strengthen partnerships, and explore how sports tourism can propel the Quad Cities toward long-term growth and increased competitiveness, according to event organizers.

    John David, president and CEO of the Sports Events & Tourism Association (Sports ETA), will be the featured speaker. Sports ETA is the leading national organization advancing the sports events and tourism sector and is a rapidly-expanding area of travel that continues to influence destination development, visitor spending, and community engagement.

    The meeting will start at 11 a.m. with check-in and networking. There will be lunch at 11:30 a.m., and a program from noon to 1 p.m.

    Some of the program highlights will include:

    • National trends influencing sports tourism in 2025.
    • How national rights holders evaluate destinations and how the Quad Cities can strengthen its competitiveness for championships, tournaments, and large-scale sporting events.
    • What event owners need from partners such as hotels, venues, attractions, and corporations to create exceptional athlete, family, and fan experiences.
    • How destinations like the Quad Cities can position themselves for long-term growth through aligned assets, enhanced event servicing, and collaborative regional strategies.
    • The power of community, collaboration, and shared outcomes to drive industry impact.
