Vets animal donation drive starts

The Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Veterans Resource Center is now hosting a Veterans Animal Shelter Donation Drive. The event, which goes through Nov. 10 and is open to the public, is in the Quad Cities Complex C Atrium, Moline.

The donation drive is a part of the Veterans Week Campaign honoring veterans of all kinds. These donations will pay respect to the contributions animals have made and continue to make to the Armed Forces.

Items accepted for donation include: kitten formula; puppy and dog food, dry or wet, pate or ground; kitten and cat food, dry or wet, pate or ground; large puppy training pads; Tidy cat litter; walking harness with a leash or lead; dog and cat toys; and blanket and towels, new or gently used.

The donations will be delivered to the Humane Society of Scott County, which is a local no-kill animal shelter.
