Vander Veer Botanical Park has new summer theme

Vander Veer Botanical Park and Conservatory has announced its new summer theme: Beyond the Beaten Path of LIFE.

The park and conservatory is located at 215 W Central Park Ave, Davenport.

“This summer, Davenport Parks and Recreation encourages families and friends to take a little time to go Beyond the Beaten Path of LIFE as they explore Vander Veer Botanical Park and Conservatory,” said Amanda Randerson, Davenport Parks and Recreation events supervisor. “Our summer theme is a free and fun way for residents to explore our park. Visit to play the game once or multiple times.”

The theme, which runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, is a part of the citywide summer theme, Beyond the Beaten Path. Beginning outside the conservatory, find a group of family members or friends to play with and grab a map/score card, or download for free.

Traverse the park to find all the stops and win, or lose, life points in order to finish the game. There will be prompts and spinners located at specific points, shown on the map, to help people move about the park. Once you are done, follow the instructions on how to count your points, and see who won. This game is free to play and can be played multiple times for different outcomes.
