Ms. Herold was among a group of about 25 people who gathered at the University of Iowa Health Care urgent care clinic, located at 2705 E. 53rd St., Davenport. The event included a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony.The walk-in clinic, which has actually been open since January, is across the street from the Costco Wholesale store, and next door to Chapter Aesthetic Studio. It offers same-day service for minor illnesses and injuries and typically has shorter wait times than a busy emergency room. These clinics will provide services that go beyond a typical walk-in clinic, including IV fluids, stitches and X-rays, according to information from the clinic.“Opening this clinic has been a really exciting adventure for our staff,” said Ms. Herold.She added that some of the clinic’s features include:
The clinic employs about 15 people.
It will see 20 to 30 patients a day.
The clinic boasts five exam rooms and one treatment room.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays; and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. The telephone number is (563) 362-3052.
The chamber ceremony also featured visits from Davenport Mayor Mike Matson and U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks.The mayor praised the University of Iowa and health officials for investing in the community.“The option you provide to the community is a wonderful thing.” Mr. Matson said.In addition to the Davenport site, there is a University of Iowa Health Care Clinic at 865 Lincoln Road, Bettendorf.
