UnityPoint Health and Trinity Health Foundation will host the 17th annual V.R. Alla Community Health Symposium, a free event focusing on heart health, on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Dr. Alyas Chaudhry, of Cardiac Surgery Associates, S.C., will present “The History of Medicine, Where We are Today, and What’s Coming in the Future,” from 5:30-7 p.m. at Bally’s Quad Cities Casino & Hotel, 777 Bally Blvd., Rock Island.
Dr. Chaudhry will discuss the evolution of medical innovation and offer actionable tips for preventing heart disease and maintaining good heart health.
“Looking back at the history of medicine gives us valuable perspective on the advances we benefit from today,” Dr. Chaudhry said. “My hope is that attendees walk away with not only a better understanding of medical progress, but also practical steps they can take right now to protect their health.”
Heart-healthy appetizers will be served.
Registration is available online or by calling (309) 779-2488. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 17. Attendance is limited to the first 200 guests.
The event is free to the public thanks to contributions to Trinity Health Foundation from Dr. V.R. Alla, a local kidney expert and retired physician, and his family.
